Highlights of this route.

Bromley Road bus lane sign

We start on Bromley Road. Before turning left onto Whitefoot Lane there is a bus lane.

The blue sign tells us when the bus lane is in operation. If you are driving outside those hours then you should use the bus lane (unless there is an obstruction, you're turning right soon or overtaking).

For example, if the time is after 10:30am then you are allowed in the bus lane. Using the bus lane creates space and eases congestion.

But make sure that you read the sign correctly.

(Correct as of 18th June 2014)

Whitefoot Lane.

This road has two lanes. But there is often parked cars in the left lane.

You should change lanes back to the left once you've overtaken the parked cars as this helps drivers behind overtake if they want to.

Plan ahead for more parked cars and change lanes to the right in plenty of time if needed. Remember your MSM routine and blind spot whenever changing lanes.

Whitefoot Lane

Mini-roundabout near Grove Park.

Grove Park roundabout

The road approaching this mini-roundabout will widen out. If you're turning left then make sure that you keep to the left as this will help drivers turn right next to you.

Straight after the roundabout is a bus lane. It has the same operational times as the bus lane above.

(correct as of June 18th 2014)

Traffic lights in Grove Park

Near Grove Park railway station is a set of traffic lights. It has a filter arrow on it for vehicles following the road ahead and straight after it is a pedestrian crossing.

As usual, be careful near traffic lights, read them properly and plan ahead.
